PADE Day 14 Word

Welcome to day 14 of PADE
Theme for today is “Word”

And here is my interpretation

" Precious than gold
Rarer  than diamond
Your first words"

First of all apologies for the not so good quality of image. It was taken very haphazardly from my mobile before it can be erased to write something else. These are the first ever words that my elder one formed and spelled on his own. He was just about 4 years....My literate 4 year old. I was proud, I am proud and I will always be proud of him.

Look forward to visiting you all and seeing your interpretation

Wish I was free

Wish I was free
Free as bird, free to fly
Free as wind, roaring through sky

I wish I was cloud
Pour and downpour my heart aloud
Drop, sprinkle and thrust my tears with proud

Wish I was the blue of blue sky
Red in the morning and grey at night
Looking through clouds, dark and light

Wish I was the sea
Roaring at high tides, thriving at shores
Sobbing at low tides, seeping through pores

Wish I was the sunset,
Looked at with eager eyes,
Wondered at with sighs
Orange with hue, red with rue

Wish I was the sunrise,
Crimson and glowing,
Promising and knowing

Wish I was the red of bride’s blush
Eager to unite, scared to touch
Willing to fly, shy to nudge

Wish I was free of forms
Free from shapes
Free from expressions
Free to flow and free to swirl
Free to row and free to twirl
I wish I could skip on rainbows and jump of mountains
Blast like a volcano and burst like a fountain

Wish I was free

PADE Day 13 Window

Welcome to day 13 of PADE
Theme for today is “Window”

And here is my interpretation

"Cut , push
Jump and fly
Window to safety"

This is a collage of photographs I took during one of my domestic flights few years back. Yes this was the only emergency window available on the flight...you were supposed to cut the window (I don’t know with what?) and jump out in case of emergency. You guys can guess the name of the airline, I have given a hint in the photograph.

Look forward to visiting you all and seeing your interpretation

Home made remedy for cough

With monsoons comes a lot of giggles, laughters, naughtiness, wet kids, wet noses ,sneezing and coughing. I normally do not rely on medicines for simple cough and cold however I do use an age old remedy passed on in my family through generations. I am sharing the details of it below:

Ingredients
3-4 cloves
1-Black cardamom
4-5 black peppercorns (Crushed)
1 bay leaf/Tej patta
1 inch ginger (grated/crushed)
1 inch fresh turmeric OR ½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp saunf/fennel
1 Ajwain/carom leaf (crushed) OR 1 tsp ajwain seeds
3-4 Tulsi leaves (crushed)
Honey- 1tsp OR sugar 1 tsp
Water – 2 cups

Method- Crush together all the ingredients that are supposed to be crushed. Add all the ingredients in the water (except honey/sugar) and bring it to boil. Reduce the temperature and let it boil till it remains approx. 1/4th cup. Turn off the gas, add honey or sugar. Stir to mix.

Things to be considered before having it-
  • 1/4th cup makes for two portions.
  • This can be prepared and kept for a day. Warm it before having it.
  • This can be taken in continuation for days.
  • It is advisable to have it warm, similar to the temperature of tea/warm milk.
  • Do not have it in empty stomuch. After a meal is advisable.
  • Should not be taken immediately after eating anything too cold, like icecream, cold water etc

Do note that I am not a medical professional and in no way I recommend replacing any medicine with this remedy. Also please check for any allergies/reactions before using any of the spices mentioned above.
