Down the memory lane

Our first trip together
Running away from the eyes, looks and questions
Hiding in the array of trees, bees, passion and emotions

On the way to a godly destine
You pick me as predestine
I pop in with a big smile
Vroom does the engine
Poof goes the tension
On our first trip together

Talking to the air, we take on the road
Love was in the air and it showed
Nothing could blot and spoil the mood
Souls entwine and we were on cloud nine
Passing through the concrete, holding your hand
Air got smelly and a little damp
Even before I could whine or snide
You put on Ambipur and I smiled
On our first trip together

The circles on the road
Going through the hill,
Pink of love and red of thrill,
Being with you, felt like heaven
Half way through and it was almost eleven
You decided to take a break and we stopped for lunch
I don’t know if you knew or you had a hunch
That I talk to my food and get in a very bad mood
When I am hungry, I brood
You had the best place in mind
It had all my favourites lined
Next one hour was food, chat and laughs
Lost in it like fools in love
On our first trip together

And we carried on,
Moving to love, grooving to music
All the way to top,
We carried on.
All the notions broken,
All the words spoken
Minds were shut and hearts open
The day marked the beginning, the beginning of our story
No I don’t remember where we were going,
Yes I didn’t care where we were going

That part is lost in the memory
But I do remember it was the start of a wonderful journey
A journey still going on!

Tomorrow is rising

Propel your believes
Bury your fury
Erase today and write a new story
There is always tomorrow
And tomorrow is rising

No don’t give up
Your dreams are tender
Your mind may wander;
Be curious and render
That life is tough and the journey tougher
But don’t lose hope
There is always tomorrow
And tomorrow is rising

Doubts may surface
And you may get nervous
Uncles may growl and aunts may scowl
But don’t lose your pace
There is fun in the chase
Swap each shrill  with a slice of grit
Change your blues with a hint of wit
And don’t forget there is always tomorrow
And tomorrow is rising

No problem so strong that can’t be solved
No issue so strong that can’t be resolved
Factor in your strength and
shake the indolence
Perch your dreams on a hilltop
and root it to substance
Look out, watch out, for tomorrow
I know tomorrow is rising

Don’t stay still
Have an urge and a will
to wend your own path
Be typical but class
Yesterday is gone,
Today is going
Tomorrow is there
And tomorrow is rising

I saw I learnt

You fell I saw
I saw and learnt falling is okay if you know how to get up

You cried I saw
I saw and learnt crying is okay if you are hurt

You slipped I saw
I saw and learnt I can slip, slide and swing if I know my own grounds

You broke down I saw
I saw and learnt breaking down is okay if you know how to pick up the pieces

You feared I saw
I saw and learnt its okay to fear the unknown

You walked I saw
I saw and learnt to walk off things I am not sure of

You laughed I saw
I saw and learnt to laugh at my own mistakes

You loved I saw
I saw and learnt to love myself

You hated I saw
I saw and learnt it is okay to hate few things in life

You spoke I saw
I saw and learnt that it is okay to speak up for things I believed in

You heard I saw
I saw and learnt to have a patient ear

You fell again I saw
I saw you falling down again and again
But I have learned enough to give you my hands, hold you tight and tell you its okay to fall every time

Dedicated to my mother for being who she is. For leading with a courageous example. A lead difficult to follow. I hope I am able to be a fraction of a woman she was and she is.
