We Meet

(C) Juztamom

We meet
In the middle of the bridge

Eyes locked with eyes
Hands held together
Distance covered together
Step for step
Vow for vow

We meet
In the middle of the bridge

No questions asked
All questions answered
Who cared who cared
We didn't
Together we were
Is all that mattered
Wink for wink
Nudge for nudge
Promise for promise

We meet
In the middle of the bridge

Longest bridge to cross
Longest distance to travel
Traveled in the shortest amount of time
Smile for Smile
Tear for tear
Nod for nod

We meet
In the middle of the bridge

Born

With each day, each leaf, each turn of sun rays
I am born each day

My eyes twinkle and my heart tinkle
With the onset of summers
I wait for you like a long lost lover
To fill my womb with love and warmth
To make my heart gloat till my throat
Is about to explode
To make me more than complete, to give me more than enough
To last when you are gone, to make sure I do not suffer
My summer

I smile at autumn, with my sole golden leaf
Dancing with other leaves,
Swimming through the golden river
Swaying strongly with a vigour
I don’t mourn at my loss
I smile and bid adieu
I know you will be back
Back very soon,
After flying through the sky and fiddling through the world,
You will be back,
Back where you belong

I live through harsh winters
I live through cold
The warmth underneath keeps me alive
The dream of your touch keeps me alive
I live waiting for you,
Your touch,
Each turn of my sunrays

I linger for you my spring
Your touch and caress fill my branches
You give me color which overflow my ranches
Red, orange, white and pink hues
Every color vibrant and every touch true
You give me patience and enough love
Due and undue
I am born with each season, each touch, each gain and each loss

I ran

 At the stroke of midnight
I ran,
I ran from you, from my pain, from my past
I ran from you, from my love, from my life
I ran from me, from hurts, from strive

I ran
From known
To unknown,
To future black and bleak
Without you crazy and weak
But for you,
I ran,
From you

I ran like a crazy man,
I ran with my legs and my soul
My legs running in all directions, away from you
My soul entwined with you but running away from you
I ran

Your love engulfed me
Your eyes overwhelmed me
Your bare soul made me weak
Your deep eyes made me weep
Your touch your look gave me spasm
My heart still bleeding, couldn’t take your passion
Hence I ran
I ran from your love and my obsession

My heart couldn’t believe the love you offered
I kept hurting you and saw you suffer
You felt trapped, I felt locked
My mind was numb and my senses shocked
I asked this question again and again
Am I fair to you?
Am I your Man?
And my mind gave me this answer again and again
No, you don’t deserve her
Will you be able to preserve her?
Will you look after the pieces of her heart?
Will you be able to restart?
You hardly manage to let go of the past,
You hardly manage to breathe on your own
How will you be her Man?
Will you ever be able to be a part of her plan?
Would you be able to give her the due?
Will you ever stand up and say I do?
I knew, I would never
And I ran!

I ran so you could see a better tomorrow
I ran so you could be out of my sorrow
I ran to give you wings
I ran to give you wins
I ran to let you fly

I ran in the night,
To let you see the day,

I ran so I could die,
Without you
I ran,
So you could live without me

Your work as beautiful as you

People said give up, let it go,
You are alone, you have a handicap,
You will never survive,
You survived
And you worked
Your work as beautiful as you

You were beautiful when you swept and you cleaned before we got up
You were beautiful with sweat dripping from your forehead
And light beaming through your eyes
You were beautiful when you hugged us and showed us the clean room
You were beautiful when you held the door to steady yourself
And when you kept on picking up the falling broom

You were beautiful sans any jewelry
You were pretty and bright,
Even when the lender didn’t show any chivalry
Beaming from ear to ear
when you sold your last piece
You had twinkling eyes, and no trace of fear
When you stitched our dresses from your wedding gifts
Each stitch each cut taking hours and hours
You were beautiful with those intense eyes running on the seam
Making sure everything is as pretty as a dream

Walking down miles to save every rupee
Crying with our cries and pleading with our plea
Standing up for us against the whole world
Standing up for yourself against the herd
No crutches for your handicap
No excuses for anything bad

You were beautiful when you presented to the world
Your brave face,
Your firm stature

You were beautiful when you presented to us,
The bright future
As big as our dreams
As vivid as rainbow
As possible as tomorrow

You were beautiful when you looked in the mirror and smiled
You were beautiful when people taunted at your handicap and you were still kind
You were beautiful when you picked me up with one hand and hugged me tight
You were beautiful when you walked with a limp and never looked down and sighed

You are beautiful today for not wanting to mend and slow down
You are beautiful, as beautiful as my each trophy, each medal and each crown
You are beautiful because you made me believe in beauty of life
You knew when to let go and let us rise
You knew when to not follow and let us fly

We moved on and
May be the work you loved was over
May be it was time for you to slow down and not be a soldier
You are beautiful because you decided to start over
You decided to not stop,
You decided to contribute,
You decided to continue,
In your own special way
You are beautiful because you are still working
In your own special ways
Working for others, working through nights
Working through days

Working for those who need you
Carrying the red, pink and blue
Living their nightmares and sharing their hues

You are as beautiful as your work
Your work as beautiful as you

Dedicated to my mother, a special god’s messenger who survived and overcame her physical handicaps. And she literally brought us up single handily and is spreading her love to those in need even today.

“Life is as beautiful  and as handicapped as your thoughts”
